About Katie

I am a Master's student at NCSU focusing in berry (Rubus sp.) research, and looking to offer my time to a family in need of periodic childcare. Although my studies are in biological science and math, I have always loved caring for children. Throughout my time in undergrad, I worked at two Montessori schools as an assistant teacher. My first position was in the infant room, working with children from 4 months to 2 years. The second teaching assistant position was working in a classroom with children mostly aged 4 to 6 years old. The formal training I have received in childhood development is based in the Montessori teaching philosophy. I am also happy to help with house work, and have a safe and reliable vehicle if errands or child transportation would be necessary.
