About Katie

Hello, my name is Katie! While I started babysitting close to 20 years ago, my academic career and behavioral therapy experience thus far has provided me with a thorough understanding of child development, how to best support the numerous needs of children of all ages and abilities, all while building deep and trusting bonds. I have degrees in Psychology and English and a minor in Creative Writing from UC Berkeley. While there, I focused on developmental psychology research (children's social-emotional development & language and cognitive development). After graduation, I worked for a non-profit for five years providing behavioral therapy services for autistic children and their families. Currently, I am a 5th-year PhD student in Special Education, where I am part of a research team focused on helping autistic individuals and their families, a free autism-screening clinic, and often serve as an instructor for courses to undergraduate/Master's/teaching credential students.
