About Katie

I have over four years of Outdoor Education experience, leading week-long backpacking, skiing, snowshoeing, and canoeing trips. I've spent the past 3 years teaching marine biology, marine ecology, sustainable practices, and much more to students grades 5-12! I most recently worked as Education Manager in a small nonprofit which specializes in experiential education, and project based learning. My education philosophy is student driven and with heavy emphasis on place based activities, outdoor time, creativity, silliness, equity and social justice. All of these skills and experiences have put me in a phenomenal position to adapt to any sort of child care/educational employment opportunity! I do not smoke, am extremely vigilant about social distancing, and I am Wilderness First Responder certified (which includes CPR).
