About Katie

I'd describe my personality as creative, empathetic, and engaging. I like tutoring because I can help kids find ways to access new skills and information that works for their individual learning styles. It's a way for me to bring my many years of classroom experience to a one on one level. I have been a classroom teacher for many years, and have periodically tutored over the past 15 years. I recently moved from out of state and wanted to give tutoring a try on a more consistent level while I take a break from full-time classroom teaching. My skills include breaking down content into manageable pieces, making learning into games, and finding ways to engage learners.
