About Kathy

I babysat for as many as 5 young children when I was much younger, before I had children myself. I raised 2 boys, now ages 22 and 25 both of whom recently graduated from college. Since taking early retirement in 2012, I cared for an 18-month-old girl for several months until the family moved away. From August, 2013 through June 2019, I took care of a little boy part-time (now 11. 5) and 3. 5-year-old little brother. In this position, I brought the kids to after-school activities, prepared meals for the children, went hiking, played basketball and soccer, read with them, made sure all the homework was done each day, etc. I really enjoy children, especially reading with/to them and playing outside. I always go the extra mile, working with them to identify activities that will help them learn what their special skills, talents and passions might be. The family just relocated to Florida and I would like to find a new "family". I am a pet lover and love to hike, run and read in my free time

We are so grateful to have had Kathy in our lives this past year! My kids have been spending time with her at least twice a week for I think 13 months, since the little one was just a few weeks old. Her energy and enthusiasm completely won over my two year old (not an easy task), and my now one-year-old basically rolls out of my arms trying to get to her when she arrives! Both of them know that they will be spending their next few hours with someone patient, humorous, playful, warm-hearted and ENDLESSLY energetic… and someone who joyfully takes them on adventures from special parks, to pet stores, to reading ten thousand books at a variety of local libraries. As a parent, Kathy has not only been someone I can trust with my kids (even when my son decides to throw out some real two-year-old moves like a meltdown in the grocery store) but also someone who’s patient and flexible with my own bizarre scheduling needs (it’s naptime! No I think they’re awake! No wait they both just fell asleep in the car!). Anyway, I can’t recommend Kathy more highly as someone who’ll not only take great care of your kids, but someone who will truly appreciate their unique qualities and support them in growing into the wonderful people they’ll become.
