I am a 34-year-old female who has been a care taker for 15+ years. I have worked with ages 3 months - late 80s. I started my journey as a teen being an assistant kindergarten teacher in a daycare, which then lead me to be the lead teacher in the infant, toddler, and school age room for for 4 yrs. I then worked in a nursing home as an aid for 2 years. I have nannied for 3 lovely families, and still have a very close relationship with all the families i've worked for. Currently, I am a state certified personal care assistant, focusing in special needs. I currently work one on one with a young adult that ive been with 6 yrs. He has cerebral palsy and is non verbal. I accompany him daily to his job, provide in home respite for his family, and advocate for him in any public outing. Dr. Appointments, errands, etc My duties include but not limited to. All physical needs. Med administrations , gtube feeds/meals, brushing teeth, using a lift for bathroom/shower needs.
