About Kathleen

For over two decades, I've been helping students unlock their potential. I have experience tutoring online and currently work part time at Learning Center. I'm a certified teacher with graduate-level training, and I specialize in elementary reading, phonics and math. My teaching philosophy centers on creating an engaging, supportive, and patient learning environment. I vary my teaching strategies, using visual aids, hands-on activities, discussions, and practice problems to adapt to the individual learning style. I celebrate small successes and provide consistent positive reinforcement to keep the child motivated, especially when facing challenging concepts. Regular updates help parents stay informed and reinforce learning at home. Building a strong, supportive rapport that makes learning enjoyable is the most rewarding aspect of tutoring. I'm comfortable with pets and look forward to helping your child succeed.
