About Katherine

I grew up in Ripon, received my BA in English from UC Berkeley, have taught 4th grade for 7 years, have my masters degree in Education from University of the Pacific, and completed a math specialist education program from the University of Notre Dame and received many great ideas for math instruction. I love helping kids grow in knowledge and confidence while having fun! I'd describe my personality as kind, adventurous, and contemplative. I like tutoring because I believe every child can reach their full potential with a little guidance. I'm looking for a job that is part time and flexible. I still teach full time during the school year. I started tutoring in college. I worked in afterschool programs, tutored reading, and taught Catechism class at my church. I like to travel, watch the Giants, draw, read, and play with my dog. I love getting to know each child's unique personality and customizing their learning. My skills include math, writing, and vocabulary.
