My mother suffered a stroke in 2006 and was left with dementia, aphasia and a weak right side. Because she couldn't live on her own anymore I moved to her home and became her full-time caregiver for 8 years. She had lost the ability to do anything on her own. It was time for me to do MY part and take care of her AND ensure her happiness. She passed away in '15. Since then, I have cared for many elderly patients who suffer(ed) from Alzheimer's, dementia, strokes, etc. Some of my responsibilities include but are not limited to: hospice and bedridden patients, mobility issues, wound care, nebulizer use, medication management, sponge baths, showers, diaper/depend changes, ileostomy bag drainage, cooking, manicures/pedicures, laundry, cleaning, doctor appointments, etc. I am honest, responsible, and affectionate with the elderly.

Kathy was so good with my mother who is 94 with dementia.  She had amazing patience and concern. She was flexible with hours depending on our need. We really appreciated her!

Kathy is an amazing caregiver. She is not only reliable but has a loving disposition and a wealth of knowledge and experience. My mother just smiled every time she walked into the room. 
She is surely a gem! 

Had 2 video calls with Kathy and she was laying down on the couch both times, tired.  We had an old caregiver come back onboard with us , so I texted Cathy to explain.  She then texted me “ You're a bloody liar. Shame on you. Karma is a b*t*h”. 
Beware !!  Very unprofessional to say the least !! 

Kathy came into our lives when our dad entered in-home hospice care in August. She took excellent care of him and the household tasks that needed to be done. After he passed, she stayed on to care for my mother who had entered in-home hospice care, and her standard of excellent care continued. Her loving and gentle manner with our parents (and our whole family) was a calming center during a stressful time. She was organized and a great communicator. She treated our parents with love and respect, as if they were her own. She was always reliable, dependable, and flexible. She remained practical and calm even under the most stressful situations. She quickly became part of our family. Now that our mother has passed away, she is seeking a new position. I can confidently say that anyone would be fortunate to have Kathy care for their loved ones. My sister and I recommend her to the highest degree.

Katherine has provided elder care for my parents, including meal prep, assistance with personal hygiene and medications, and light housekeeping. When she first arrived she observed the way their household and personal schedules operated and she fit right into the swing of things. When Dad became bedridden she made excellent suggestions for items that made care less painful for him and or easier for caregivers. She has also provided companionship and sincere consolation for Mom after Dad's passing. She is an excellent and experienced caregiver.

Kathy cared for my mother for short term care after a hospitalization. She got Mom walking again and feeling much better. I was working with Kathy from out of state and found her to be professional, organized and thorough. She made the whole process go much smoothly.  Kathy knows her job very well.

Kathy has filled in multiple times- on late notice and for long hours at times, to care for my husband with young onset dementia in its later stages. She was quietly efficient, caring and patient with his confusion and even argumentative behavior. I have confidence that she would be a great caregiver for any elder, including those with some challenges. I work far away and appreciated her willingness to start work early and beyond the regular working hours.

Kathy was great help. She was punctual, very pleasant, and she was wonderful with my grandmother. Kathy has a lot of experience and she made my grandmother feel very comfortable.

Kathy is very good with our mother.  Follows through with her daily care and exercise plan well and is a trusted companion.

Feel so fortunate to have found Kathy on Care.com for my mom. She has been taking care of her for approximately one year now. We couldn't be happier with her. She is an incredibly compassionate, dedicated, trustworthy individual with outstanding work ethic. Several months ago she went above and beyond the call of duty when mom went to the hospital with a broken hip. She stayed by her side for days on end when we couldn't. She also has a lot of common sense which so many people seem to be lacking these days. One thing we most especially love about her is her sense of humor, very refreshing.

Kathy is a wonderful caregiver! She was taking care of my mother in law, Martha, who has a dementia.  Kathy was fulfilling Martha's needs 100 percent! She took her for walks, prepared meals and in overall Kathy helped Martha with the daily tasks, which were getting more difficult as her disease progressed.  Kathy was the best! 

Kathy took time to get to know my father, she sat and listened to him...he loves to talk!  She is a very compassionate caregiver and kept in touch with us on a regular basis.

Katherine provided excellent care for our mother and interacted with her in  a very positive way. She always went out of her way to make mom feel special and help her through a very difficult time. Mom's care was complicated by an ostomy and a wound that needed attention on a regular basis. Her professional and positive ability to interact with other family members made a big difference in moms care. We would highly recommend her.   

Kathy started caring for my mom in January, 2017.  Kathy is so kind and gentle with my mom.  My mom enjoys when Kathy is there with her.  Kathy is great in playing games, doing crafts, or whatever brings mom enjoyment.  She loves making different dishes for dinner or snack.  It's nice to know that mom is being loved and cared for when Kathy is with her.  It's been a pleasure having Kathy come alongside our family in caring for my mom.  I would highly recommend Kathy as a competent, caring, caregiver.

Kathy is wonderful. Her caretaker skills are excellent. She has a huge, caring heart and an outgoing personality. My father balked at having a caretaker and was not easy to deal with. Kathy smiled and did not give up. She accompanied my dad to the doctor, she did his laundry, fixed his meals, cleaned up behind him, and simply took a worry off my mind. Allowing me to come home and be able to enjoy my time with my dad. Kathy was only here a few months when dad got sick and went in hospital. Kathy went to the hospital everyday and kept me informed of dads progress. Texting me his vitals, what nurses were doing, what test had been done, DR names and heads up Dr was gonna call me. Unfortunately, Pop will be remaining in a long term care facility, instead of coming home. Kathy definitely  relieved me of a lot of stress and took great care of Pop.

Our family has been so blessed to have found such a kind and loving person for provide care for our 87 year old mom.  Kathy is an angel on earth.

Katherine and I were both 24 hour caregivers for an elderly woman that had suffered a stroke and was left paralyzed on her left side. I instantly liked working with her as a team; she was punctual in arriving to relieve me, kept the refrigerator well stocked, our living quarters clean and shared any information I needed to continue our work in the client's home.  Katherine has a great sense of humor, making life more enjoyable for the woman.  She was willing to go above and beyond in requests that were made of her while working there without hesitation.  She also had years of experience from caring for her mother with dementia.
