Hi, I'm Katherine! I'm a student at UCSB double majoring in Sociology and English with the plan of eventually becoming an elementary school teacher! I've been babysitting for over 5 years and have experience with children aged newborn to teens! I can take care of multiple children at once, even if they're all young/close in age- I have experience nannying for newborn/infant twins. I have 3 younger siblings as well as multiple young cousins and family friends, so caring for and being around children has always been a part of my life! I am comfortable putting kids down for naps/to bed and am very good at staying on a set schedule if requested by the caregiver(s). I also have experience caring for children with special needs. Katherine was our first paid caregiver for our 6 month old daughter. We were so nervous to have anyone other than our parents care for our only child. From the moment we interviewed Katherine, however, she put us at ease. She immediately asked to hold our baby and was so incredibly at ease with her that I felt myself exhale. We hired her right away! Katherine used every moment of time that she was with us to engage our baby. She talked and played with her the entire time...she was never on her phone or distracted! When our daughter would go down for a nap, Katherine would immediately pitch in and help with household chores...chopping vegetables for dinner, folding laundry, doing dishes. She is easy to be around...peaceful, calm and fun. I love that she is both girly AND a rugby player! We appreciated having our daughter experience a young woman who was smart, organized, a great communicator and had a regulated nervous system! Katherine is the whole package! We are SO sad that she is leaving Santa Barbara to do an internship and then study abroad or we would like to keep her forever! :)
