NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW POSITIONS I've been a private housekeeper for over 30 years. I'm a professional writer, and this is how I stay fit and healthy and give myself a regular paycheck. I prefer to be paid by the day, rather than the hour, to take the proper time and care of details; if I have extra time when regular duties are done, I will deep clean as necessary. I use natural cleaners whenever possible. I can assist you in assessing and, if necessary, downsizing and dispersing objects compassionately through Buy Nothing or creative recycling efforts. I'm quiet, warm and friendly, deeply respectful of other people's space and emotional attachments to objects, at ease with formality, especially with senior citizens. I'm capable and comfortable taking care of fine furnishings, yet am handy with tools and can fix many small home troubles. I can work with difficult messes and pride myself on discretion. Please note I'm fine with children but am not a nanny or emergency sitter.

I hired Katherine to help me prepare for a move by packing up too many years of accumulated "stuff" and deep-cleaning my house (especially the parts that had gotten a little too dusty and made it hard for me to breathe). She was amazing; I couldn't have done this without her. Not only did she help with the physical work of cleaning and packing, but her emotional support when it came to getting rid of my ex's stuff and some of my own things from earlier in my life was absolutely invaluable. Without any judgment, she listened to me when I needed to talk and simply supported me when I didn't. Katherine is a lovely person who genuinely cares about her clients. I consider myself lucky to have found her and wouldn't hesitate to hire her again if I needed her services.
