About Kate

I'd describe my personality as nurturing, organized, and fun. My skills include engaging in play, ensuring safety, and keeping spaces tidy. I am a lifelong learner, and I appreciate all the fascinating things children can teach me. I like working with kids because I enjoy being part of their development. I started working with kids when I was 13 years old. During college, I provided care for several families with infants and school-aged children. For a few years I was a Big Brother Big Sister mentor and enjoyed that role immensely. For two years I worked in a developmental preschool, including students with special needs. I also have experience as a live-in nanny for a family with four children. In other more recent positions, I've cared for newborns through 5-year-olds. I'm looking for a job that balances variety and routine, professionalism and fun, and flexibility and commitment. In my spare time, I like to travel, explore nature, hike, try new recipes, and read.
