Katie worked for us as nanny for the last 18 months but she was really so much more than that: surrogate parent to our youngest child C., Mary Poppins, home manager, confidant, personal assistant, and friend, to name a few of the roles she played at the C. household. We relied on Katie to completely manage C.'s life--she signed her up for classes like swim and dance, prepared her for school and camp, took care of her medical needs and managed all of her clothing and food.
