About Katerine

Katerine (Kate for short) has been with us since August 2020, so we have been through thick and thin with her over the last almost 4 years. When she started, we had a 1.5 year old and a 4 year old. We now have 3 extremely active kids, age 8, 5, and 2. I'm realizing it's hard to fully summarize her time with us outside the simple statement that she's truly been part of our family during this time. I would recommend her in the absolute strongest of terms. At this point, we are only letting her go because of changes in our job status. Otherwise, I'd have no reason to let her go. To start with the broad strokes of Katerine's personality and qualifications... She is originally from Colombia, where she was a teacher before moving here. She brings that education mindset to the job. She is calm and collected, and able to manage even pretty challenging kids. We have 3 boys, all VERY active, and she juggled them very well. Nowadays, it's mostly the youngest that is with her daily. Every morning they are out of the house, either at a park/playground meeting with baby friends, at a library for story time, at the zoo, or some other adventure. She's done a great job of coordinating with other nannies in the area to develop a social environment for our kids. When they're home, they are typically doing arts and crafts or outside time. We have a huge stockpile of kids art projects, including lovely gifts she's helped them make for mothers/father's day, birthdays, etc. She has been very reliable and has never missed work unless she is quite ill. She has been safe with the kids, and is first aid trained. She has been very receptive to feedback, and when we change our behavioral approaches at home, she readily adopts these house rules. Perhaps most tellingly, the kids really love her. I'm happy to answer any questions that may come up, but again, in summary, I can't recommend Katerine highly enough, and any family would be fortunate to get to work with her.
