About Kate

I have six years of experience working with infants and toddlers in a residential care facility. During those six years I was responsible for the daily care of children ages 0-5 which included cooking, cleaning, clothing, planning projects and outings, taking children to appointments and parental visits, and carrying out monthly child developmental milestone checks for each child. In addition to my six years experience with early childhood, I have seven years of experience as a special educator for grades k-6. I have an undergraduate degree in general and special education from Indiana University and a masters degree in curriculum and instruction from Portland State University. My degree at Portland State University included nine credits of early childhood coursework. I most recently taught in a classroom for students with severe emotional and behavioral disabilities in Gresham for the past five years. I am passionate about the working with families and feel comfortable with children of all ages. I most enjoy planning developmentally appropriate activities and outings for children and am well versed in curriculum in the state of Oregon for grades K-6.
