About Kate

Hi there, my name is Kate and I am a third year, pre-nursing student at UCSB! My goal is to become a pediatric nurse because I have always loved working with children. I have a strong background in healthcare and childcare, including two years of work as a Certified Nursing Assistant caring for elderly patients. Before moving to Santa Barbara, I worked as a children's swim instructor with the non-profit SOMA Aquatics, teaching free swim lessons to children of all ages to promote water safety in California. I also volunteered as a Sunday school instructor growing up, which led to babysitting opportunities with local families. I have worked as a summer camp counselor for 3 years, caring for 11 kids as the lead instructor. I come from a large family that loves cooking and baking and would be happy to help prepare meals. I am CPR, BLS, and CNA certified, have my own car, and would be happy to help with driving!
