About Katarina

Since 2019, I have spent my summers working as a counselor and then Camp Director at a camp for people with disabilities. For the past three years, I have also served as a Community Organizing Director for a disability rights nonprofit advocating for accessible public transportation, while working as a Personal Care Attendant for individuals with disabilities and complex medical needs. These experiences have shown me that the greatest barriers people face are often not their disabilities, but inaccessible systems and societal stigma. I am committed to advancing disability rights, educating others, and challenging misconceptions that limit inclusion and opportunity. I reject the notion that those who do this work are "saints." We are allies working alongside people with disabilities to promote equity, accessibility, and self-determination. My goal is to help create communities where everyone has the support and opportunities they need to live and thrive.
