About Karyn

I have been a lover of all things writing, grammar, and English since I was in middle school. I studied English - Communications and Technology in undergrad and graduated Magna Cum Laude with my Bachelors in 2020. Since then I have had one year of formal teaching/tutoring experience, but I worked across multiple ages and skill levels during that time. I worked with Grace Academy in Elkridge, MD, a couple years ago where I taught 1st grade English (including phonics and early reading), 5th grade English (including grammar, reading comprehension, complex sentence structures, and beginner essay writing), and 9th grade English (including essay writing, critical thinking, reading comprehension, book reviews, etc.). I love meeting people where they are and am an encouraging, motivated tutor. I would love to work with young students who are growing in their skills or even adults who are learning English and seeking to improve their skills.
