About Karla

Hello, my name is Karla! I am a UTSA graduate and have earned my Bachelor of Science in Public Health with a minor in Sociology. While at UTSA, I tutored college students in algebra and received my College Reading and Learning Association certification. Currently, I am a practicing vision therapist for the largest vision therapy clinic in the nation. At the Optometry Center for Vision Therapy, I help remedy visual deficiencies and regularly accommodate patients with learning disabilities. I have also worked at the Kids Playhouse Daycare in Harlingen, Texas where I cared for infants and toddlers, prepared their food, and ensured their health and overall well-being. I speak Spanish as well as tutor, cook, clean, and care for pets if needed. Throughout my various professional experiences, caring for others has always been central. I value helping others and watching children develop to their potential.
