About Karla

Hello, my name is Karla. I have worked as an elementary school teacher, a special education teacher, a tutor, a nanny, and a disability services specialist at a university. My experience in teaching spans 8 years and my experience at the University spanned 3 years. I encourage independence, curiosity, and creativity. My tutoring skills are best suited for the early childhood and elementary school level. As a nanny, I cared for a teenager with autism, helping him work through his morning routine while also completing minor household chores (laundry, sweeping, vacuuming, washing dishes). Whichever role I am needed for, I treat with the utmost diligence and respect. This would be a temporary position for me until I find work that can sustainably support our family. When that time comes, I would give advanced notice and work with you on a reasonable timeframe to support the transition out of the position.
