About Karin

When my wife elected to enter hospice care we quickly realized that a weekly visit by the hospice nurse was not going to get us through what was ahead. I reached out to Karin, and it was the smartest decision we ever made with respect to our journey. Four reasons you should count yourself lucky to have Karin on your side...(1) Karin is very experienced, very knowledgeable about the hospice process, and knows most of the players in the area first-hand, and honestly gave us more insight into my wife's situation than the hospice team. (2) Karin is a deeply positive person with a baseline sunny personality. She would show up at 8:30 am with a smile and a bushel of thoughtfulness. My wife's face would light up when Karin arrived. (3) Karin is proactive, whether it was bringing breakfast, snacks, or suggestions about palliative medications, as well as a valued second-opinion on the barrage of meds that hospice threw out there. Honestly, Karin was the defacto lead on the care team, but always scrupulous about boundaries. (4) Karin takes care of the household, by which I mean we all felt seen by her -- even my 3 yr-old grandson would greet her by name. Both of our grown daughters quickly came to rely on her counsel, and sought her opinion often. I could go on but I'll simply say the loving kindness that Karin brings to her practice is extraordinary and deeply reassuring. She is the best.
