I have been blessed by many life experiences of supporting both elders and individuals with disabilities. Some of my earlier experiences include working with elders in two newly opened affordable housing independent living apartment communities, providing support to a young man with mental illness, and parenting an adult daughter with Autism Spectrum Disorder. In the fall of 2018 I moved from Minnesota to the Des Moines area, and began working with seniors, often as a member of a caregiving team. Since 2020 I have taken coursework to expand my offerings to individuals and families. These courses have built upon a helpful foundation provided by a Bachelor of Social Work degree that I obtained while still in Minnesota. I have taken trainings for End of Life Doulas and also in end of life spiritual direction. I have also completed several courses in Coaching with Internal Family Systems and have been learning more about the many strengths of Highly Sensitive People (HSPs).
