Why am I passionate about this, well because I get to make them smile, reinforce their value and defend them against loneliness. The amount of wisdom and knowledge our seniors have can fill libraries. The passion that comes out of them when they tell their story is contagious and I would be honored to be there in the moment with them. Depending on your loved ones likes I will encourage them in those areas as well as perhaps get them to try new things. (nothing dangerous) Getting out and about, shopping, baking or picking up a friend to join us at the movies. Karen is a hard-worker, caring, compassionate and just an amazing person. She cares for my 80 year old mother and is truly a God-send. She enjoys taking care of the elderly and it shows. My sisters and I live far way and are unable to take care of her. After prayer and search on Care.com we were blessed by God to have found such an amazing, wonderful angel. Karen is now a part of our family and has given us peace to know Mom is in such good hands. My mother was also dealing with depression and loneliness. When I call Mom now she is lifted and I can hear the excitement in her voice for her weekly visit with Karen. I can not thank Karen enough for all she does and who she is.
