I have two children of my own with Down Syndrome. They are 30 and 26, high functioning and my pride and joy. I gained a lot of experience personally taking care of our two and I know it's not easy and that it can be frustrating at times. If I can pass any of my knowledge that I've learned over the years from raising my two and from being in the medical field, I will gladly do so. My family and I are very family oriented and active in the Special Olympics. The word "can't" is not in my vocabulary. :) I've had 20+ years medical experience in hospice and home health care and worked in hospitals and nursing facilities, which has helped with my own children. I love working with children and showing them that they can do whatever they want if they try hard enough. If the client I'm working with is content and smiling at the end of the day, then I know I've done my job right.

While our autistic son did enjoy her company, reliability and punctuality quickly became an issue. She quit without notice (via text message) after she had already received her schedule for coming weeks. Our family wishes her the best but can not, in good conscience, recommend her for a family needing reliable special needs care.
