Experience: 10 yrs
I am a homeschooling mother of three grown children. I hold an Early Childhood Education degree and have worked in daycare centers and the public schools. During college, I was a nanny for twin infants. I was a teacher's aide in a junior high special education class for one year. I have been a therapeutic foster parent for eight years caring for children with autism, developmental delays, medical issues, and histories of neglect and abuse. I truly enjoy caring for children. I try to provide a rich basis for their future learning. I believe in reading aloud, active and imaginative play, early social experiences such as library story hours and playground time, sports, music and movement classes, and introducing children to a musical instrument at an early age. I will support activities which the parents feel are healthy and good for their child. I also try to help the family function smoothly by helping with chores when the child is napping and attending doctor appointments.

I cannot express enough gratitude and admiration for Karen, who has been an integral part of our family for the past three years. Her dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment to the well-being of our two little girls have truly made her a guardian angel in our lives. From the moment she entered our home, it was evident that she possessed a rare combination of warmth, professionalism, and genuine love for children. Her ability to create a nurturing and stimulating environment for our daughters has been nothing short of extraordinary. She effortlessly balances playfulness and structure, ensuring that our girls not only enjoy their time but also learn and grow in a safe and loving atmosphere while balancing the ability to discipline when needed. Communication has been seamless throughout our partnership. She keeps us informed about our children's daily activities, milestones, and any concerns or observations she may have. This open and transparent communication has fostered trust and collaboration, making us feel like active participants in our children's lives even when we're not physically present. What truly sets her apart, however, is her genuine love for our children. It is evident in the way she engages with them, listens to their stories, encourages their creativity, and provides the comfort and reassurance they need. Her innate ability to connect with each child on a personal level has created a bond that goes beyond a professional relationship — she is, without a doubt, an extension of our family.
