The summer before my senior year of high school I decided to get my certified nurse aide license at Milford Manor Nursing Home in West Milford, NJ. I worked for them that summer and when I went back to school in September, I started working per Diem for Bayberry Care Center in New Rochelle, NY. Towards the end of my senior year of high school (in 2006) I started working per Diem at Providence Rest Nursing Home in the Bronx, NY, where I eventually became full time and have been there ever since. My responsibilities at work are to provide personal care and assistance with ADLs for the residents that I'm assigned to. Some examples of my duties include bathing, feeding, toileting, transferring (from bed to chair/chair to bed/chair to toilet/etc.), perineal care, repositioning, personal and dental hygiene, assist with ambulation, make beds and change linens, answer call bells and make rounds, and provide post Morten care. I'm passionate about helping others and meeting their needs.
