I am a semi-retired Registered Dietitian who has always enjoyed caring for children, especially babies and 1-year-olds. I have cared for babies and small children as a job and for family members and friends. I took care of a girl from 1-2 years of age for about 1 year as a regular job. I also took care of another girl from 9 months to 2 years as a regular job. In addition I took care of children from birth to toddler age occasionally for friends and family. In the past 2 1/2 years I have babysat for children from a few weeks old to 4 years old. I also took a Child Development class in college. I believe reading to children is very beneficial. I would describe my personality type as calm, kind and quiet. I do not spend time talking on the phone and would never entertain friends while working. I live in Amagansett year round.

Karen helped care for my 2.5 year old daughter and 3 month old baby son while we were on vacation for a weekend in Amagansett. My husband and I were present the whole time and just needed an extra set of hands as backup. She was very attentive and caring with my children and also helped us with things like carrying stuff out onto the beach, etc. She has a very kind and calm demeanor, my daughter enjoyed looking for seashells with her on the beach and reading books. I thought she was very nice and helpful.
