I'm Karen! I'm currently a high school teacher in Santa Monica. I hold a masters degree in Spanish. I'm fascinated by languages and the ability to communicate with diverse individuals in different languages. I come from a Hispanic background where I was taught English and Spanish simultaneously. I have studied French for 6 years. I have also also studied a beginning course of sign language and am currently studying Portuguese and interested in continuing those studies. Knowing different languages has opened opportunities for me and has helped me become a more open minded and culturally aware individual and I'm excited to share this experience and skills with my students!
