About Kara

Hi! My name is Dahlia, and first and foremost, I am a mom to a wonderful almost 2-year-old son. He is with me wherever I go, including babysitting gigs. I am CPR and First Aid certified, and have my Bachelor's degree in social work. I am a creative soul and a lifelong learner, and nothing brings me greater joy than encouraging whimsy and learning in impressionable young minds. I always have a craft or activity in my back pocket and a book nearby. I have been babysitting since I was in middle school. I come from a large family, therefore am no stranger to keeping an eye on children (and adults at times) of all ages at the same time. In my spare time, I like to sew, crochet, dance, and do karaoke! One thing you should know about me is that I have a nearly 2-year-old son who is almost always with me. My skills include my creativity, dedication to redirecting behaviors, and my willingness to listen to and learn from the children in my care. As a bonus, I also make a mean gumbo!
