About Kalyani

I have over 5 years experience as an educator and teaching artist who has worked in extensively with pre-K to grade 12 populations in educational settings and as an urban farm educator. I come from a performing arts background in theatre and music, which directly connects to how I incorporate play and creativity to my caretaking work. I have a Masters in Applied Theatre from CUNY SPS, which equipped me with invaluable tools, games, and structures for learning and exploring with young ones. I started babysitting when I was 15, and since then, I have always loved working with young people and providing a safe, brave, and creative space for them to grow and be themselves. I'm deeply passionate about nature, gardening, and art, and I love learning and nurturing all that young ones are passionate about as well!
