About Kaitlin

As a family, we have been so incredibly lucky to have Kaitlin as a nanny. From our first meeting, she stood out due to her kindness, attention to detail, and range of experience. For example, her extensive knowledge of behavior and occupational therapy has been invaluable. She noticed that our son was “W” sitting and explained how it can be problematic. Then, she helped our son notice the behavior and change it. Her approach treats kids with respect and validates their feelings while helping them make more effective choices. We have learned so much from her. She models staying calm even when kids are dealing with big emotions. She has so many strategies to help kids navigate the little and big things. For instance, our daughter has some sensory issues, which can make getting dressed tricky. Kaitlin has been able to jump into our morning and take over with loads of empathy and fun. She would make options for outfits, use funny voices, turn things into a game, and help create an order for the morning that held space for lots of flexibility. Our kids would often wait in the window for her and ask about her on the weekends. She really worked to build a relationship with our kids and us, which made leaving the kids with her feel like leaving them with family. Our youngest will be starting full day preschool, which is why we won’t need a nanny moving forward. We have had amazing and not so amazing experiences with having a nanny, and Kaitlin made this year the best year we’ve had. In addition to being a kid whisperer, her professionalism and timeliness removed the stress we experienced in previous situations. She is an excellent communicator, a motivated self-starter, and an interesting person. Whoever is able to work with Kaitlin next will be a very lucky family.
