I'd describe my personality as fun, patient, and encouraging. I like tutoring because there is nothing better than helping a struggling learner fulfill their potential and see what they are capable of! The moment when something clicks for them makes it all worth it. I have 15+ years of specialized training and experience with teaching phonics and the Wilson Reading Program in an individualized setting. One thing you should know about me is that I will always advocate for your child. I am more than happy to communicate with school teachers regarding a student's progress or to discuss areas of need. As a reading specialist in a local elementary school, I know firsthand how important it is to have clear communication between all parties involved in a child's education. I graduated from Columbia University with a Master's degree as a reading specialist, with my specialty being early reading skills, phonics acquisition, and reading comprehension.
