About Kaitlin

I'd describe my personality as adaptive, reflective and ambitious. I like tutoring because it allows me to work with students during a crucial time for their developing minds. Helping students master foundational skills is very rewarding for me. I enjoy tutoring because the small group setting allows for more of a connection and understanding of a student's needs. I'm looking for a job that allows me to use my educational skills and experience through tutoring. I started tutoring in 2020, but also taught grades 1-5 as a Special Education teacher for Jefferson Parish Public Schools prior to that. In my spare time, I like to care for my 4 dogs, garden and cook. One thing you should know about me is that I am very experienced in determining a student's strengths as well as areas that could use improvement. My experience as a SPED teacher helps me design curriculum that suits each student's needs. My skills include assessing skill level, differentiating instruction and patience.
