About Julie

I have a good deal of experience working with the elders. My most in depth work included and still does include caring for a woman with dementia. I have worked for the family for some time now and I have seen how her condition has progressed. I feel I have a good understanding of the issues concerning dementia. My duties have included, being a companion, giving her meals, helping her move around, making sure she never falls, changing her and helping her in the bathroom. I also have been responsible for giving her her meds at the appropriate times. I also do light housework while I am there such as the dishes. She likes to chat. Often it never makes no sense but I always go along with her and agree with her. We laugh often. She also has become physical and moody at times and I handle that as best I can, remaining calm and I try not to respond much to her "moods and anger".
