About Julie

I was an Animal Welfare Specialist at Santa Barbara County animal shelter in CA where I was employed to care for all types of cats, dogs, and rabbits (and other animals as needed) until adoption or return home, including cleaning living spaces, socializing and enhancing their shelter experience, medicating, documenting behavior, and advocating for their safe placement. I worked at a veterinarian office where I became Fear Free certified, although I feel I was Fear Free before it even existed! I volunteered at the premier animal shelter PAWS Chicago. I worked as a dog walker and cat caretaker for Chicago Pet Care. I have been a foster in my home to cats needing special care. I am life-long feline lover, starting as a toddler with our family Siamese. They have always been part of my life. While I have yet to be a dog's special human in my own home, I have made immense bonds with so many that needed a partner in play, exploring, and learning and loving.
