I had a feeling after reading Julie's bio that she was the right person for my Mom. She was so great about engaging her and keeping her mind active. In spite of her severe short term memory loss Julie was able to help her feel safe and boosted her confidence. They laughed all the time. Mom can be very challenging because she is so energetic (she never sits down) and independent. Julie's experience really shows in the way she was able to turn that challenge into something positive by joining mom in all the things she enjoys, caring for plants, her dog, doing crafts, walking to town for coffee, hiking, visiting with neighbors. Julie was with mom for a year full-time Mon - Fri. She managed all her appointments, kept her medications up to date and kept the household running smoothly. She communicated everything that was going on, I can't say what a relief it was to have Julie there. Mom has been in Assisted living for 2 weeks and we still talk and share stories about mom.
