I'm experienced by default and my professional experience. I have had experience working as a job coach and day camp assistant for adults with disabilities. Sounds more glamorous than it actually was as my role jon entailed not only managing clients with development disabilities, but also physical and in larger group settings where multiple needs came into consideration. This was a hard role to be in but the most rewarding I've had. I chose to work with this community at the time after seeing what proper care and also what lack of care looked like for family members that had disabilities and needed the additional support. I thought this would be a job where I taught my clients but they really taught me. I know very basic ASL and have had some experience with children with autism as well.
