About Julia
Experience: 2 yrs
I am a 5th grade special education teacher in Queens. I have experience with general education, special education, and English Language Learners. I believe that learning appeals to the whole person, not just academic strengths and weaknesses. This means that a teacher should get to know students both academically and personally. By getting to know a child's personal interests, likes and dislikes, and habits, I can create a learning plan that is engaging and effective. At school, my students praise my classroom for being cozy and welcoming. I am a firm believer that when children are supported and at ease, they will learn best!
