I've known Julia since 2004 and I consider her my closest friend. I could talk all day about how wonderful of a person she is but what makes her stand out in this context is how amazing a teacher she is. Everyone has that teacher that they remember from their days in school. The one that inspired you, the one that cared about you as a person, the one that cut through your antics and addressed what was really bothering you. She has spent the majority of her career being "that teacher" to so many kids.
