About Julia

Originally from the Bay Area in California, I relocated to Colorado for school, and just graduated from CU Boulder with a degree in psychology. I'm from a large family and have always felt comfortable working with children; even at a young age I would play with younger kids so their mothers had some free time at home. In Colorado I've babysat throughout college, taught Spanish to my own class of kindergarteners, and acted as a teacher's aide for a Preschool class. I also spent one summer working at a program as an instructor for disabled adults. I studied abroad in Madrid, Spain, where I tutored English classes to Spanish-speaking children. Last summer I worked as a camp counselor at a camp that encouraged inclusion and encouraged the development of children through interacting with nature, and most recently I was an education intern for an organic farm community in Oregon where we ran field trips, a preschool, and summer camps. I feel so blessed that I've had so many opportunities to be surrounded by children in different environments. I am currently working in Telluride, Colorado as an educator for a kids adventure program and also working in a preschool as a teacher.
