I moved a 55 plus community in the Buckeye AZ area upon retirement 3 years ago. Although I'm very happy with my active lifestyle and am not looking for a job, taking care of children now and then sounds like fun. Plus it would give me the opportunity to be around people who are not my age! :) Before we moved here, a young friend and her 9-month-old son lived with my husband and me for four months and that necessarily required me to learn how to be an instant grandmother of sorts. I watched the little boy many times over the years and know how to manage meals and snacks, diapers, nap-time, bedtime, story time and playtime. I've picked him up from daycare, taken him with me to restaurants ... We did fine.
