I have worked in nursing homes as an aide. I have seen many seniors get poor care from CNAs that are just there for a paycheck. I love taking care of the elderly and I'm a very compassionate person when it comes to a patient's needs. Yes, I get a little discouraged at times but who doesn't? I've taken my past patients to doctor appointments, grocery shopping, and stayed during the daytime when at the hospital. I've even stayed the night with them in the hospital because I couldn't bear to leave them by themselves even when I didn't have to and didn't asks for a penny more. What I was making at the time was sufficient and the people I have worked for I grew to love very much. Yes, I did get holiday bonuses unless the person was unable to afford to give which I understand totally. I don't expect them but I took really good care of my past patients and they took really good care of me. Blessing's!
