About Joy

Unlocking a student's unique potential through personalized support is the cornerstone of my teaching philosophy. With five years of experience, I specialize in Math, English, Science, Art, Music, Drama, and Study Skills for elementary and middle school students. I create an engaging, patient environment by observing how each student interacts with new material, allowing me to adapt my methods--whether through visual aids, discussions, or hands-on practice. When concepts become challenging, I break problems into manageable steps and connect lessons to personal interests to build momentum. I believe consistent communication with parents is essential for fostering a collaborative, trusting relationship. My greatest reward is witnessing that "aha!" moment when a student masters a new skill and gains newfound confidence. I am ready to support your student's growth at your home or online, and I look forward to helping them thrive.
