About Joy

Hi! My name is Joy and I am 51 years old and while I do not have any specific experience in the healthcare field, my father suffered from Dementia and Parkinson's for 4 years before he passed away last August. I helped him in many ways as far as giving him his medication, sat with him, dressing him, making him meals and giving him walks to give that daily exercise as well as running errands to get his medication and grocery shopping, pharmacy pickup, anything except lifting him because I am very small and could not do that . I read to him and we played games just to make his life seem as if it were normal. One thing that Dimentia patients do not want to hear is that they have forgotten yet another thing, event, person. The goal is to try and make them feel as if there's nothing wrong except that now they need some help because their family members have jobs to go to!
