About Joy

I was a teacher for 42 years while also caring for my elderly parents in my home for the last 20 years. I am very familiar and comfortable with dementia patients. I'd describe my personality as even-tempered, friendly and flexible. I like caring for seniors because I understand their desire for self-sufficiency and self-control even when they aren't capable of either at the time. As a senior myself, I know how I want to be treated with respect. I'm looking for a job that allows me to be a companion and/or a driver. I started caring for seniors when my parents became unable to live on their own. In my spare time, I like to write children's books, read, watch movie and go to antique stores.
