About Joy

Hi family! My name is Joy, and I am a current graduate student at UMich, originally from Connecticut. I have 4 years of experience in senior care, having started working in a nursing home and recently working primarily with residents with dementia. I believe in providing personalized, compassionate care to individuals while working closely with families to ensure their loved ones feel safe, comfortable, and supported. I'd describe my personality as compassionate, understanding, kind I like caring for seniors because I am a firm believer that life does not end when you're a senior. I enjoy doing fun activities with seniors, whether that's going out for ice cream, reading together, listening (and myself learning) to 50s and 60s music, doing their nails, or completing a puzzle or two. I love creating meaningful moments and making sure seniors feel engaged, valued, and cared for. My skills include understanding, patient, open minded.
