About Joya

Hello I'm Joya! I am originally from Upstate NY coming from a job as an after school counselor, a daycare employee, and a frequent babysitter. Currently in Portland, Oregon looking to move here and would love to continue working in childcare/pet care. I've enjoyed my several years working with kids because they make me feel like a kid again with their imagination, creativity, and humor. As for animals, I've always wanted to work or volunteer with animals of any kind and hope to one day work at a shelter or rehabilitation center. Back home I often walked dogs and have housesat a few times as well. I also started using Trusted Housesitters as a way to travel and get to spend time with pets! In my free time, I like to cook, dance, spend time outdoors, craft of all kinds, watch movies, and do yoga. One thing you should know is I do not currently have a car, only my partner has one. So if you're far out of town it might be more difficult to commute, but not impossible!
