About Journie

Hi! I'm Journie! I'm a college student, athlete, and future teacher who loves staying active and spending time with kids. I played basketball at Morton College and have wrestled since sixth grade, including competing in freestyle wrestling at Fargo and receiving a wrestling scholarship. Outside of sports, I love being outdoors, exploring nature, reading, and singing. I'm also studying Early Childhood Education because I hope to become a teacher one day. I've been working with children for almost three years as a kids counselor at my local park district. I spent two years with the Mavericks program, working with K-3rd graders, and this year I work with Trailblazers, working with 3rd-6th graders. I help supervise kids, organize activities, play sports like basketball and soccer, and even help run sports programs at the park district. I'm energetic, patient, responsible, and love creating a safe and fun environment where kids can be themselves!
