About Josie

I began helping children learn when the owner of the boba shop I worked at asked me to tutor his two elementary-aged kids in all subjects. He provided a rubric and had high expectations, testing them weekly to ensure I was fulfilling my duties. This first tutoring experience highlighted my creativity and ability to keep children engaged and motivated. After a year of tutoring (and making boba), I wanted to support children further and became a Registered Behavior Technician in California, helping children with autism for two years. Wanting to deepen my education, I attended UC Merced to earn units toward becoming a qualified preschool teacher. For a year, I applied creativity, patience, and early childhood education knowledge to help 18 toddlers and 20 preschool-aged children learn and thrive in fun, engaging ways.
