I've been a Direct Support Professional for about 7 years years now. I've assisted clients with everyday tasks like running errands, transportation to medical appointments, financial management(bills typically), and state-related renewals/benefits/services management. I really enjoy meeting all kinds of people, and I have been blessed by how many kind and interesting people I've gotten to work with over the years. I listen first and take direction. I want the individual to know that they direct the shift. If invited, I'm happy to offer input or encouragement, but I will always let the individual lead the way.
